Surgical Services  

The Surgical Services Department at Clay County provides inpatient and out patient surgery to patients from toddler age to geriatric.  At the current time, Clay County Hospital has five (5) surgeons on staff:

There are an average of 120 procedures performed each month.  We are staffed with all R.N.'s who provide your pre-op, intra-op and post op care.  Your comfort and safety are always on our mind.  Providing you with excellent care and service is our top priority.

What to expect during your visit:

• Pre-op instructions and education

• Verification and marking of your surgical site

• IV fluids infused

• Assessment of pain, medication for pain will be given if needed

• The entire stay will last up to six (6) hours or longer

• If allowed by your physician, food and drink will be given prior to discharge of patient.

• The patient will receive a follow-up phone call the next morning if not seen by his or her physician.

Hours of Service:

Normal hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with a 24/7 service available for emergencies.
